Iranian director meets Vietnamese NA Chairman, garners support for 'Love in Hanoi'

Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue has met with Iranian cinema director Qorban Mohammadpour in yet another notable step towards cross-cultural cinematic cooperation between Tehran and Hanoi.  

The two met on the sideline of the ongoing Vietnam Cultural Days hosted at the Iran Cinema Museum in Tehran.

The event, held to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Tehran and Hanoi, saw the announcement of steadfast support for the production of the cinematic film 'Love in Hanoi’.  

Iran’s Mehr News Agency reported that Dinh Hue's official visit to Iran on Tuesday marked a pivotal moment as both nations celebrate half a century of diplomatic collaboration.

A focal point of his visit was the discussion surrounding the challenges that have temporarily thwarted the progress of the film 'Love in Hanoi’.  

During the meeting, the film’s director Mohammadpour highlighted the impediments that had delayed the film's production.

The candid conversation underscored the dedication of both nations to surmount these obstacles and bring the film to fruition.  

Dinh Hue commended the pioneering spirit underlying the cinematic venture, expressing his enthusiasm for what could potentially become the first-ever collaborative cinematic project between Iran and Vietnam.

Promising to blend artistic talents from diverse backgrounds, the visionary film is set to be filmed in three countries: Iran, Vietnam, and China.

During the meeting, Hue extended his call for crucial backing for the project to the Vietnamese Ambassador to Iran and the Deputy Minister of Culture, both of whom were present during the session.

Their joint commitment was hailed as a testament to the enduring cultural bonds between the two nations.

'Love in Hanoi', a cinematic endeavor initially slated for production in Vietnam prior to the onset of the global pandemic, has encountered delays due to the closure of borders and the unprecedented challenges posed by COVID-19. The determination to overcome these setbacks underscores the resilience of the artistic community in both nations.

Mohammadpour is celebrated for his directorial role in the previously broadcasted romantic drama 'Hello Mumbai' on iFilm English TV.
